Dreamy (original French name Schtroumpf Rêveur) is one of the main characters of the 1981 cartoon show, who has appeared on the show up until around Season 7. He is also a minor character of the Smurfs 2021 cartoon show.

Comic Book Universe/2021 TV Series Version
As the village daydreamer, this version of Dreamy is a Smurf who usually fantasizes about sticking on to one thing or another as his primary vocation, always fascinated by whatever vocation happens to strike his fancy (in similarity to Dabbler).
While he is not physically seen in the original comics, he is briefly mentioned in "The Astro Smurf" comic story by a Smurf who advises Astro Smurf to call on Dreamy because "he is always in the moon" (French equivalent for "he is spaced-out" or "he has one's head in the cloud"). Despite him not physically appearing in the comics, he has exclusively appeared in official Smurf merchandise such as a 1984 Smurfs trading card collection and the 60th Anniversary Smurf figurines.
It should be noted that even though he is separate from his 1981 TV series counterpart, the figurines which was dedicated to the celebration of the 60th anniversary for the Smurfs franchise portrayed him as a sailor as it took specific elements from the 1981 TV series.
Dreamy reappears in the 2021 cartoon show episode "Knight Smurfalot" as a normal Smurf (and named "Dreamer" - the English translation of his original French name) who is obsessed with adventure. He has a crush on Smurfette and idolizes her for her Smurf-Fu skills.
Dreamer possesses a large amount of romantic knowledge. In "Dreamer: Master Of Love", he cites several romantic lines while trying to get Papa Smurf and Willow together.
1981 TV Series Version
In the 1981 TV series, this version of Dreamy is a Smurf who usually fantasizes about going on adventures that no Smurf has ever gone on before.
In "The Astrosmurf" and "Dreamy's Pen Pals", he visited the Swoofs as Astro Smurf, until he realized that the Swoofs were actually Smurfs in disguise.
In "Smurfette's Dancing Shoes," he goes along with Papa Smurf, Grouchy, and Harmony to get the Blue Diamond for an evil imp who's kidnapped Smurfette and wants her to marry him. He briefly falls into a deep pit.
In "Once In A Blue Moon", he was still wide awake when everyone else went to bed because he said that "there's something about the moon tonight: Something special. I can feel it!".
In "Dreamy's Nightmare", he attempted to travel around the world until he was stopped by Gargamel. In "The Last Smurfberry", he became the captain of the sailing ship the S.S. Smurf II.
Dreamy may have an imagination more active than most Smurfs, but his dreaminess has paid off. For example, his desire to explore has made him the Smurf who best knows how to command a ship. In fact, Dreamy is usually the captain whenever the Smurfs go sailing, such as in "Marco Smurf And The Pepper Pirates" and "Smurfs At Sea". He takes his position as captain very seriously, correcting Smurfette when she didn't use sailor's talk in "Smurf A Mile In My Shoes" and implies he's done so many times before.

In the Smurfs' Village game, Dreamy Smurf and the S. S. Smurf II give you the land expansion of the island. Also, he will give the player another land expansion on Planet Swoof as Astro Smurf with his rocket.

- His character in the 1980s cartoon show was voiced by Don Messick (since "Dreamy's Nightmare"; in "The Astrosmurf", he was voiced by Ronnie Schell) and IIse La Monaca in the 2021 cartoon show.
- In the 1980s cartoon, Dreamy's voice changes to a lower pitch starting from "The Magic Egg" and onward.
- However, in "The Smurf Who Would Be King", his voice returns to his high-pitched voice for this episode only.
- He, Handy, Jokey, Smurfette, Sassette, Papa Smurf, Clockwork, and Grouchy are the only Smurfs to celebrate their birthdays in an episode of the 1980s series.
